Programs
The Celebrate Program provides students with extended after school education and learning opportunities with the goal of improving their academic achievements and life skills. Students enjoy being with friends, having outdoor adventures, and participating in fun activities - while parents see the benefit of their child exploring the arts, learning responsible behavior, having help with homework, and reinforcing academic learning. Our data has shown that students who regularly attend Celebrate improve in their math and reading skills. Parental and community involvement is the key to the success of our program. Club 212 is an after school program that is organized and funded by After School Discovery (ASD) and is available to students at Lakeside Jr. High School (LJH) in Ashtabula. When a student joins Club 212, he or she joins specific clubs that are put on both by ASD and LJH. The student attends the club meetings and events from 2:30 until 5:15 and then goes home. Bussing will be provided but students can certainly be picked up by parents. Click here for more information on Club 212 ...

The Gifted and Talented Program is offered throughout the county each year to students identified by the Educational Service Center (ESC). Students who show superior academic achievement in math, science and language arts are engaged in creative thinking and inquiry based learning experiences.
ASD also offers In School Programs that use a thematic approach to learning. Classroom teachers can choose from a variety of classes that use the visual arts to help students learn more about math, language arts, science or social studies. ASD instructors work with the teacher in the classroom to help students meet grade level State Academic standards.
