UPDATES for the 2024-2025 School year:

Fall 2024

After School Discovery is busy working on our existing programming, and we will be offering DISCOVERY COVE; STRIVE 4 SUCCESS; CELEBRATE PRIMARY and QUEST 305 (both before and after school that is funded by the Nita M Lowey 21st Century Community Learning Center grant from Ohio Department of Education); and CLUB 212.

• Our before and after school child enrichment program for Preschool through 6th grade

• The program begins August 21st 

• Held at Huron Primary School from 6 am to 9:30 am and 2:30 pm to 6 pm (closed during school hours) in our rooms in the B wing (B122 and B123).  Entry is through the entrance through the north door along Wade avenue - the 2nd door on the left along the sidewalk past the small playground,  Ring the bell.

• This is a parent pay program with the cost of $5.25 per hour for the first child and $5.00 per hour for each additional child from the same household.

• Fall session runs September 30 - December 6 for 1st and 2nd grade students at the Wade Avenue Campus.  Winter session runs January 27 - April 25, 2025 

• Held before school Monday through Friday from 7:15 - 8:15 am at Huron Primary School.  Enrichments offered:  Fitness; Yoga; Sign Language; Art to name a few.  

• Held after school Monday through Thursday from 3:00 - 5:30 pm at Huron Primary School.  Transportation home at 5:30 pm is available at no charge. 

• Snack and dinner each day.

• Provides support in academics and social/emotional skill development. 

• This program is funded through an Ohio Department of Education's Nita M Lowey 21st Century Community Learning Center Grant.  There is no charge for this program.

Strive 4 Success - click Programs for more info

• Fall session runs October 1 - December 4.  Winter session runs February 4 - April 16, 2025

• Academic tutoring for 3rd through 6th grade students 

• Offered after school Tuesday and Wednesday with Academics held at Erie Intermediate and enrichments held at Huron Primary. 

• Students will participate in enrichments and physical activity along with an hour of focused academic coaching and support in reading and mathematics.

• Begins August 21st  

• For 7th and 8th grade students 

• Offered after school for homework help for students and athletes at no charge.  

• No transportation home

 

Quest 305 Before School Homework Help - click Programs for more info

• Fall session runs September 30 - December 6 for 7th and 8th grade students at Lakeside Junior High School.  Winter session runs January 27 - April 25, 2025 

• Offered before school from 6:45 - 7:10 am to work on Homework with Mrs. Gancos.

 

Quest 305 After School - click programs for more info

• Fall session runs September 30 - December 5 for 7th and 8th grade students at Lakeside Junior High School.  Winter session runs January 27 - April 24, 2025 

• Offering enrichments (Dungeons and Dragons; Escape Room; Art; Girl's Circle, Micro Sports; etc.) in addition to support with academics

• Offered Monday through Thursday from 2:00 - 5:00 pm. 

• Snack and dinner (students will be bused to Huron Primary for dinner before coming home).

• There is no charge for this program.

• Transportation  home at 5:00 pm is available at no charge.
