Summer of Discovery 2023

 

After School Discovery is offering Summer of Discovery, a unique 6 week adventure of exploration and personal growth to a select number of Ashtabula Area City School students at NO CHARGE to the families.  One of our goals for the children who completed the Summer of Discovery program is to be supremely confident and thoroughly prepared for success as they enter school in the fall. 

 

FAMILY NIGHT for all programs is Thursday July 20th at the bus loop of the Wade Avenue Campus from 7 - 9 pm.

 

Celebrate Summer of Discovery 2023 for students entering 1st grade through 3rd grade:

• THEME:  SPACED OUT

• Held at HURON Primary School

• 8:30 am - 3:00 pm

• Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursdays June 13th - July 20th

• Children will receive breakfast and lunch provided by through the Ashtabula Area City Schools Nutrition Services Department.

• Students will participate in academic laced lessons, enrichment opportunities along with Yoga, Nature Exploration, Computers. Fun with Food, and Music. If possible, the children will be scheduled to attend one field trip off campus

• Transportation to and from the program will be available through Sunset Transportation at no charge

 S4S Summer of Discovery 2023 for students entering 4th grade through 6th grade:

• THEME:  SPACED OUT

• Held at SUPERIOR Intermediate School

• 8:30 am - 3:00 pm

• Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursdays June 13th - July 20th

• Children will receive breakfast and lunch provided by through the Ashtabula Area City Schools Nutrition Services Department.

• Students will participate in academic laced lessons, enrichment opportunities along with Art, Nature Exploration, Coding, Soccer Skills and Music.  If possible, the children will be scheduled to attend one field trip off campus

• Transportation to and from the program will be available through Sunset Transportation at no charge

QUEST 305 Summer of Discovery 2023 for students entering 7th through 9th grade:

• THEME:  SPACED OUT

• Held at LAKESIDE JUNIOR HIGH SCHOOL

• 9:00 am - 3:30 pm

• Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursdays June 13th - July 20th

• Children will receive breakfast and lunch provided by through the Ashtabula Area City Schools Nutrition Services Department.

• Students will participate in academics (Realistic Math, Book Club, and Science), enrichment choices (Arts, Nature Exploration, Sports, STEM, etc..), and Career Exploration with hands on activities. After the first week, there will be weekly field trips to a variety of locations exploring secondary education and career options.

• Transportation to and from the program will be available through Richmond Transportation at no charge

Summer of Adventure 2022 for students entering 10th through 12th:

• THEME: SPACED OUT

• Held at LAKESIDE HIGH SCHOOL

• 10:00 am - 4:30 pm

• Monday - Thursday from June 1st - June 23rd

• Students will receive breakfast and lunch provided by through the Ashtabula Area City Schools Nutrition Services Department

• Students will participate in academics (Realistic Math, Book Club, and Science), enrichment choices (Arts, Nature Exploration, Sports, STEM, etc..), and Career Exploration with hands on activities. After the first week, there will be weekly field trips to a variety of locations exploring secondary education and career options.
